Editing Basics: An Introduction to Adobe Lightroom & Photoshop
This one-hour, informational class is designed to give you a clear, approachable introduction to two of the most widely used photo editing tools: Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop.
Whether you’ve never opened an editing program before or you’ve downloaded Lightroom or Photoshop and aren’t quite sure where to begin, this class is designed to meet you at the starting line and show you what’s possible.
Throughout the class, we’ll walk through real before-and-after examples and demonstrate basic editing tools, so you can see how simple adjustments can make a meaningful difference without getting overwhelmed by technical details.
What you will learn:
- Adobe Lightroom Overview: Explore Lightroom’s strengths in photo organization and create an efficient editing workflow. You’ll see how non-destructive editing and presets work, along with examples of simple but powerful adjustments like exposure, color correction, and cropping. This section will help you understand why Lightroom is a favorite for photographers working with larger groups of images.
- Adobe Photoshop Overview: Next, we’ll explore Photoshop and how it differs from Lightroom. You’ll see examples of more detailed and creative edits, along with a high-level look at layers, masking, and precision tools. This overview will help you understand when Photoshop is the better choice for fine control, retouching, and advanced editing.

We’re located in the Foxshire Plaza on Fruitville Pike where there is ample parking in the shopping plaza’s parking lot right in front of the store!
Age Restriction
By limiting our classes to adults, we can tailor our content and teaching methods to better meet the needs and expectations of this demographic. We believe that this policy enhances the quality of our educational offerings and the overall experience of our adult learners. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.
Exceptions: Youth age 16 or 17 may attend with an accompanying adult. Both participants would need to secure a seat.
Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy
Our classes are intentionally small and community-focused. Because instructors are paid per student and classes often fill, late cancellations can affect both our instructors and other students hoping to attend. Thanks for helping keep our classes running smoothly!
7 or more days before the class – Cancel for a full refund or receive full class credit toward a future session of the same class.
2-6 days before the class – No refunds – you’ll receive full class credit to use toward a future date of the same class.
Less than 48 hours before the class – No refunds – we’re unable to offer rescheduling, but you may:
- Transfer your spot to a friend for this date, or
- Receive a one-time 50% class credit (per customer, per year) as a courtesy
Minimum enrollment – Classes require a minimum of 3 participants. If a class is canceled due to low enrollment, you’ll be notified and offered a full refund or full class credit.
If Perfect Image cancels a class for any reason – You may choose a full refund or transfer to a comparable upcoming class.
